Welcome to our school website
Our school has been operating in Edmonton's south end for 35 years. The parents who founded it in the early 1990s wanted to provide their children with exposure to Polish language and culture. Maria Chrzanowska, an Edmonton activist involved in Polish radio and education, was chosen as the school's patron.
We are currently, with great joy and pride, continuing to teach children and young people from kindergarten to grade 8. Our experienced teaching staff offers a diverse range of Polish language classes, incorporating elements of history, geography, and Polish traditions. Engaging lessons, collaborative projects, in-school and out-of-school competitions, and participation in Polish community events provide our students with the opportunity for comprehensive development in a positive, creative atmosphere. All of this translates into their success. When they travel to Poland, they don't feel alienated or lost. In Canadian schools, they often stand out for their broad perspective on the world and their knowledge of culture (including applied culture). They are instilled with a respect for diverse behaviors and the richness of languages, allowing them to adapt very well to life in Canada—a country that is a mosaic of traditions and cultures.
Our school's operations are made possible thanks to the generous support of Edmonton's Polish organizations and, in recent years, the support of the Marian Kolbe Institute for the Development of the Polish Language. However, these activities would not be possible without the volunteerism of parents and, above all, the active and dedicated work of the Parents' Committee. Our parents oversee the school's finances and engage in exciting initiatives that promote Polish customs and traditions.
The collaborative work of teachers, parents, and the entire Polish community is helping our school thrive and influence younger generations, helping them maintain a connection with Polish culture and language. We trust that this will remain a place where a passion for learning and a love for Polish roots are nurtured for many years to come.
